Watercolor 4 Now: Art show at the Gamble Mill in Bellefonte, PA

Some people may not be able to see my art show at the Gamble Mill this summer, but you can still see my paintings I have in the show here on my blog...  I am showing 9 watercolor paintings along with 3 other watercolor artists;  Lena Thynell, Marlee Erwin, and Jim Cartey.  The show is a great display of the wonderful beauty and versatility of watercolor.  All for artists are local to the State College area of Pennsylvania.  I have listed the titles, sizes, and prices of my paintings that are in the show.  Also, I have added some discussion about each painting.  All paintings are for sale and framed.  If you are interested in any painting, please contact me:  bbtravelingcolors@gmail.com.  Enjoy the show...

Morning on Locust Lane
WC  16" x 24"
$1200
This is a street scene from Bellefonte, PA.  I taught a watercolor class at the Bellefonte Art Museum this spring and one morning I was early for class and so took a little walk around.  That is when I found this alleyway.  I loved the orange building with the green awnings so I muted the colors of the surrounding buildings to emphasize the brightness of the orange building...

NY Slot Canyon
WC  14" x 9"
$500
This painting was painted from a photo of my first visit to New York City.  Fantastic experience!  I was struck by the narrow streets and tall building that surrounded everything.  I felt as if I was in a slot canyon from back home in UT...

Sunday Stroll
WC  20" x 9"
$650
This is also a Bellefonte scene.  I was lucky to capture this lovely couple as they crossed the street.  I hope someday my husband and I can be like them...

At the Old School House
WC  9" x 10"
$300
This is an old school house in the small village I live near, Julian.  Such a fantastic old building.  I think it is now being used for storage.  The people were of course imagined by me, but I like to add figures because it adds interest and there is a story...

High Street Bridge
WC  10" x 14"
$450
Another Bellefonte scene.  This view is from Talleyrand Park, a favorite of my boys and mine.  We love to walk the train tacks and chase the ducks.  Who doesn't like to chase ducks?  The park is right by Spring Creek which has large trout waiting to be fed.  I have painted at this park a couple times...

Atherton Sunset
WC  14" x 20"
$900
This painting is of North Atherton Street in State College, PA.  It is fun to paint a wet street scene with watercolor and of course the streets are often wet in PA.  Compared to UT at least.  I really tried to focus on getting a certain feeling I wanted in this painting and so was less concerned with accuracy...

Brown's Farm
WC  10" x 14"
$500
A scene from my family's farm.  This was one of the first plein air paintings I did after moving here to PA.

A Drippy Evening
WC  8" x 8"
$250
This was a plein air painting I did in the rain.  I was painting under the hatch of my car which provided some protection, but you can still see where drops of water fell onto the painting.  I like it though, it really enhances the feel of that rainy day.  Actually, I had to finish this painting back in my studio because it would not dry with the humidity in the air.  Each plein air painting provides me with a memory...

Solo Run
WC  14" x 6"
$300
This is the only painting in this show that was actually painted in Utah.  I just really like this painting and it's format.  I figured this solo runner could be anywhere.  That is what is great about running!  You can do it anywhere...
